Blade Runner is the film that sums up the appeal of science fiction films for me. Its not that its full of hi-tech futuristic effects or gimmicks that play the futuristic dollar, rather it has a simple premise, one that androids are here and you can’t really tell who they are. The idea is what makes the best sci-fi films, not how big the explosions are. All the best films in the genre know this.
Notable mentions here also include the fantastic soundtrack, the robotic Rutger Hauer and the deadly hot Daryl Hannah.

Looking forward to this..
I had made an almost complete list, but i accidentally deleted it. I’m just winging it now.
“T.. T is for Turtle.”
A good start Owen. I am yet to see any Kurusowa films… incredibly. But I’m sure I wil at some point. I’ve heard Ikiru is good. Blade Runner is just ok for me, a tad over-rated and not that enjoyable to watch but an undoubtedly striking aesthetic, bold and ahead of its time. I like that it has a philosophical element to it, existential. The Coens films are certainly popular but their endings usually leave me wanting. No Country For Old Men was overrated in my opinion.
That’s from my film collection.. thief!!!! good choice!
(was looking at I when i commented!)
Finest directorial moment? It’s definitely up there but I’ll see your Jaws and raise you a Schindler’s List…actually sod that! Hook and The Terminal!
Ha great pic!
Regarding “King, Stephen” and your use of The Lawnmower Man.
King had his name taken off the credits because the only thing remotely similar to the “source” material is the title (which is admittedly very similar, in fact I’d go one further and say it’s exactly the same). So that’s the crap one you’re referring to, yes?
Join me here in pedantic corner won’t you?
Having never read any of the source material for any of those films, you could tell me that for any of them and i would have to defer to you out of pure ignorance. Point taken. Do you want me to remove it?
Nah.
‘This would be on a constant loop in 80′s Diner.’
Great reference. We should make this concept happen.
I do believe there is true potential. Maybe I’ll go on Dragons Den,
They’d be mugs not to invest!
XYZ?
Actually stuck, I just wanted something less obvious than X-Men.
I have a Z lined up, and don’t think Y should be that difficult.
AARRGGHHH!!
Any Suggestions?
xXx? Malcolm X? or you could do the smart thing and just do X-Men.
