My 2010 Review Winners

Drum-roll please…

Film

Nominations : Ponyo, Toy Story 3, Where The Wild Things Are… See full list

..and the winner is :

Buffalo 66

First VHS I’ve watched in a very long time. Liam lent this to me, for the second time I think. This is one very funny/quirky film about a man just out of jail, who then kidnaps Christina Ricci, to have her pretend to be his girlfriend, as he visits his parents. Fantastic performances and a nice little soundtrack to boot.

Television Series

Nominations : The Office, South Park, The Pacific, Formula 1.

..and the winner is :

Formula 1

Fantastic season… I found my love for formula 1 again, over the last couple of seasons. Happy to see Vettel secure the championship at the last race, despite being seemingly out of it with 2 races left. Helped along of course by Ferrari shooting them selves in the foot.

Album

Nominations : Frightened Rabbit – The Winter of Mixed Drinks… See full list

..and the winner is :

These Four Walls
by We Were Promised Jetpacks

Most played according to my itunes play count, so I’ll go along with that. I would predict big things for these boys.. but I imagine they’d instantly split up as a result.

Song

Nominations : We Were Promised Jetpacks – Ships with holes… See full list

..and the winner is :

Sprawl II (Mountains beyond mountains) by Arcade Fire

Actually if i was going by itunes again for this one it would be Ships with holes will sink by WWPJ, but since this is my list and I make the rules. It’s this delightful ditty from those merchants of cheer.. Arcade Fire. Was really good live too.

Live Music

Nominations : The Pixies, Arcade Fire… See full list

..and the winner is :

Iggy Pop

A fantastic weekend at Sonisphere in August was capped with a memorable performance by Detroit’s finest.. even if he does make averts for car insurance.

Game

Nominations : Rock Band 3, F1 2010… See full list

..and the winner is :

F1 2010

Codemasters do it again. A 13 year itch for a good Formula 1 game is finally scratched. Built off the Dirt 2 game engine, it no surprise that it looks amazing. It plays great too,  just a nice balance of rock hard simulation and fun-times throw around. Bring on 2011!
