This gig was fairly last minute (one week), encouraged to go by the addition of Ed Harcourt to the bill and the likely hood that Julie would be up for it considering that very fact.

Ed Harcourt has a class voice, despite the revelation that he had been suffering from food poisoning all day. He did seem to be sweating excessively. It was all a very pleasant performance, with a cracking finale, in a old rusty sounding song, that i cant really describe as well as i would like. Antique-y.

I only know Greg Dulli (or as Jud calls him, Greg Dully) from The Gutter Twins and vaguely from The Twilight Singers, there seamed like there was a lot more hardcore fans the place who knew all his stuff. The songs are generally good and he/they made a good noise. However i don’t think the lyrics were always the best and some songs did leave me a little cold. But like i say, generally good. More good than bad.

The venue is almost as empty as it was last year when Sunset Rubdown came to play.

The band are quality, and they actually rock.. hard.
